For those of you who have ventured into the Northern Quarter of Manchester, you will know it's quickly becoming a trendy, cool part of the town. At weekend you will find it full of interesting looking characters mingling amongst the bars and trendy shops. Yyoung people and teenagers just hanging out with their skateboards or enjoying all the record shops and "vintage" stores.... although when did 1989 become vintage!?

Tib Street, Manchester

It fill with shop offering all sorts of interesting products, and another shop offering equally interesting services. It's the kind of street that you suddenly find your self walking down on the way to a bar or shop, you suddenly realise where you are and stop making eye contact!

So, Tib Street cuts right across the Northern Quarter and disects Hilton Street. Hilton St is one of the main roads through the NQ and is full of all kinds of shops and bars. On Saturday, I sat in a bar (Art) on the corner of Hilton Street and Tib Street with some friends. I watched as people moved back and forth, the variety of people was just fascinating to watch. 

I was amazed as teenagers walked past sex shops that have spilt out of Tib Street, advertising all sorts of things from Potions, Pills and Popps to "GIRLFRIEND FILMS for fine folks with good hearts and curious minds"... This made me giggle!  The kids in the picture below seemed pretty wild, yet even they were curious about what was behind the wire curtain. The shopkeepers make what can only be described as a token gesture to keep the curiosity of teenagers at bay with a simple sign reading "ADULT".

If you get a chance, head to the Northern Quarter, take a seat in a bar/cafe and just people watch... you might also see inspector gadget and a fisherman.... its ace!
